Academy Lunches

The academy operates a healthy eating policy. At lunchtime, we encourage children to have an academy meal. These are cooked on site and are nutritionally balanced and always offer a choice. Menus are available from the main office.

For pupils at Oasis Academy Blakenhale Infants, we encourage all children to have a free school meal. If you wish your child to bring a packed lunch, you must put this in writing to the Principal. Children should bring plain water to drink during the day in labelled bottles. These should be taken home and refilled each day.

At Oasis Academy Blakenhale, there is plenty on offer at lunchtime. We have a rotation of menus that get refreshed every term. The daily menus always include a halal and vegetarian option.

*Please note that throughout the academic year, special menus are available to celebrate different occasions.

Healthy Snacks

At playtimes, the academy sells healthy snacks from our production kitchen on site.  We have a children's 'Healthy School Council' who monitor the products on sale.

Healthy Living

We believe that sport and physical activity are essential to enable children to develop to their full potential. Our aim is to promote healthy lifestyle choices through healthy eating and physical activity to enable children to make healthy choices later in adult life. We are working to develop, support and deliver key aspects of PE and School sport, to enhance health, well-being and competition.

Our aim is to develop a culture and ethos in our academy that nurtures and encourages individualism, confidence and pupils who are self-assured. We strive to instil a culture whereby pupils make informed choices about healthy eating, fitness and their emotional and mental well-being.

Our broad, balanced curriculum enables children to explore healthy lifestyle choices through a range of subjects and enrichment experiences.

These include:

  • Health Weeks
  • Parent/Pupil health workshops
  • Charity fundraising events (Sport Relief, Race For Life)
  • Outdoor learning activities
  • Visits from science experts

Food Allergen Record Form...

Nut-free school

Pupils in our school have a range of food allergies, including a severe nut allergy. Due to this, pupils and staff are asked not to bring any nut products into the school buildings. You can view a letter and further information about this here.

Why not see what our school lunch menus are?

We are happy to share with you our weekly lunch rotation menus, downloadable below. If you have any questions about the lunch or healthy living at Blakenhale, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

*Please note, there may be slight adaptions to the menu if we encounter any delivery issues.
